Current Topics:

Bible: The grade 5/6 class will be leading the assembly on Fri, May 11, so we will be preparing for that over the next few weeks.  Our memory challenge is to memorize all of Romans 12 (a few verses at a time). So far, the class has recited Romans 12:1-19 (in sections of 2-3 verses at a time).  There is no memory work due next week, since we will be busy getting ready for the assembly.  Romans 12:17-21 is due the following week, on Thursday, May 17.

Math:

The Grade 5's and Grade 6's are working on a unit on ratios, rates, proportion, and percent.

Social Studies: Great job, everybody, on your Arts Festival displays!

Science: The last science unit will be on the human body.

Language Arts:
The Grade 5's study language arts with Mrs. Peddie. 

Spelling: Parents, please continue to help your children review the spelling words they've missed on tests. Words will be repeated in future tests.

Grammar: We will be working with mechanics and punctuation.

Writing: I loved your similes and metaphores.  Some were very creative!  Next week we will be using all five sentence types in a short story.

Physical Education: We are beginning to train for the Track & Field meet.   

Art:
The Grade 5's study art with Mrs. Peddie.
